The out of control gas prices are a sad reflection of what this nation let occur. We are all getting a civics lesson, if we want it or not. Regrettably, we are watching our economy devolve into an economic disaster that should have never happened. The civics lesson is the ineptitude and dereliction of duty displayed by our elected officials in Washington D.C. We are supposed to have three branches of government that checks and balances each other. Their rubber stamping of the most corrupt President in our nation's history has consequences. Congress could have and should have restrained a corrupt President that is so intoxicated with power that his poor decision making has led to a global economic meltdown. No matter which party is in office you must have oversight with all three branches of government. Sadly, we are all experiencing the result of an unbridled Executive Branch. Donald Trump knows he is the most powerful man in the world and he has no qualms about exercising that authority. He has single-handedly destroyed not only our economy, but harmed many other nations' economies throughout the world.
MAGA even attempts to insult our intelligence by telling us it's actually patriotic to pay higher prices at the gas pump. Well folks, if the truckers are paying six to nine dollars for a gallon of diesel you can bet that we will all suffer at the grocery store. If they have to pay those outrageous prices you bet they are not going to eat the extra cost to transport goods and services across this nation. Even inflation and an unnecessary war with Iran has become a political football that has no winners. What a shame people in this country have become so blind with their tribal allegiance to a political party that they will deny the obvious and let millions of people suffer needlessly. Regrettably this nation has been seduced by a cult leader and even the elections will provide little relief. In a just world people would put aside their MAGA allegiance and vote for their self interest. This election in November will go down in history that will either expose the destruction of the three branches of government or restore the necessary guard rails that the founding fathers envisioned.
