Thousands of students from over 200 schools across Colorado conducted a walkout to protest ICE operations in Colorado communities on Friday September 4th 2026. As students voiced their opposition to ICE operations many detractors chimed in and judging by all the comments there is an apparent disconnect from reality.  Students know good and well what is happening in our society.  Our community is fully aware of the Constitutional and legal violations committed by ICE.  Some would rather insult our intelligence and try to convince us that what is happening is really not happening.  They would prefer we cower and bend the knee to a fascist agenda.  It’s always interesting when people who support fascism and the brutal violations of our Constitutional rights are so offended by students exercising their first amendment rights.  I hate to break it to you, but all people residing within the United States are entitled to their Constitutional rights.

The truth apparently hurts when people stand up to jack booted ICE fascist who are kicking in our doors with no warrant. They are very comfortable condemning the free speech of the future generations rather than abiding by the Constitution that they claim to hold so dear.  The hypocrisy never ceases to amaze me.  What ever happened to those so called patriots that claim that the Constitution is the law of the land and can’t be soiled.  These so-called patriots are standing on the sidelines while the Latino community is being violated by an ICE administration that has no qualms inflicting unjust treatment upon us.  It is one thing to uphold our immigration laws, but it’s another thing when you violate our Constitutionally protected rights.  Many on the right continually try to tell our community that they are only going after the hardened undocumented criminals, but we all know and can see with our own eyes that it’s our skin color that determines our unjust treatment.  So for those students who have the courage to take a stand and hold power to account we say thank you!
