What Blue Tsunami?  Is it just me or does this election season feel the same as November 2024.  We are inundated with media outlets claiming that a blue tsunami is coming this November with the Democrats taking over the House of Representatives and the Senate.  History is on our side because historically the opposing party always wins vital seats to balance the branches of power.  As the media uses this click bait to raise our hopes, reality will hit us like a ton of racist bricks.  Don’t get me wrong the Democrats will win many seats, but the seismic shift will not appear for several reasons.  As history repeats itself, what will also repeat itself is the cult of Donald Trump.  Many media outlets seem to forget it’s called a cult for a reason.  We see and hear many media outlets provide stories of MAGA Americans displeased with what is happening with the economy and society, but will still vote Republican during the elections.  People on the left, due to our good hearts and souls place too much value on common sense and forget that a cult doesn’t operate in reality. 

Our community lives in a second class status, while other communities go about their merry way.  We are living in a public hell and seem to lie to ourselves that someone is going to come save us.  Well folks nobody is coming to save us from this unjust period of time.  We must look from within for our own salvation.  We must be willing to go to the voting booth in historic numbers, and revive a movement that occurred in the late 60s and 70s that resisted oppression.  The solution to our unjust condition will not come merely by voting, it will come when more of our community wakes up to the reality of this oppressive treatment.  Sadly, far too many Latino’s don’t view our oppressive state as a threat to future generations from achieving the American dream.  A dream that escapes us merely due to the color of our skin.  They have internalized the hatred and racism and repackaged it as a flaw of our own making.  So please get out and vote, but also realize that voting is only part of the solution.
