It’s amazing how many people find ways to justify the shooting of an unarmed Latino DoorDash driver in Austin Texas on Sunday September 20th.  People will perform all kinds of mental gymnastics to excuse an out of control ICE administration.  It’s no accident that ICE agents wear masks and refuse to wear body cameras. They know good and well that what they are doing is illegal.  They know that there will be a day when Trump will be out of office and state governments will hold them accountable.  Regrettably this nation has an armed secret police that follows the orders of a fascist regime that has no reason to follow the Constitution.   Half of this nation elected Donald Trump and Latinos are reaping the heavy hand of their racist agenda.  When they committed the crime of shooting Wilber Garces Perez they not only sent a message to immigrants, they sent a powerful message to all Latinos.  They reminded us that we are not welcome in this country and that they will violate our Constitutionally protected rights whenever they want to.  On Sunday we witnessed an unvetted ICE agent who shoots first then asks questions later. They are immune from prosecution and they know it.  

     For those who wish to dispute my claims of racism, then why was he shot in the back?  Why would you cuff someone who was just shot near the spine and have the victim sitting up?  Why would they shoot at a moving car that was not posing a threat?  How do I know that?  He was shot in the back.  The answer to all those relevant questions is cold blooded racism!  Watch the tape of his treatment after the shooting.  Dogs who have been hit by a car receive better treatment.  Who in their right mind would sit up and cuff a person who has an obvious gun shot near their spine.  There are reports that he is partially paralyzed on his left side.  When all other humans except Latinos suffer a gunshot wound near the spine they would be gently placed on a back board and immobilized immediately.  They are even trying to expedite his deportation while he still has a bullet lodged near his spine.  Wilber has told his lawyer that they are keeping him in a cold cell with no bed.  They have even removed him from the hospital and placed him in a detention center. We all know the stellar care he will get there. There will be a day when the perpetrators of such racist actions will be held to account and we will demand justice in the court of law.
